Hair Loss

TICK TOCK. If you have hair loss, time is of the essence. Your future self is thanking you now for taking the steps to address your hair loss. While there are many products you can buy, there are very few that work. There are over 20 types of hair loss and you need a Board-Certified Dermatologist such as Dr. Kindred to evaluate your hair and scalp and work with you on your treatment plan journey.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is one of the key tools Dr. Kindred uses to address hair loss. Platelets are essential to healing tissue injury.
While many know that platelets clot the blood to prevent excessive blood loss, platelets also start the healing process by releasing chemicals into the injured site. These chemical are called Growth Factors. PRP refers to concentrations of platelets twice the normal concentration in whole blood; in turn, PRP is rich in Growth Factors. By concentrating growth factors at the site of hair loss, Dr. Kindred has the potential to enhance the body's natural capacity to heal the damage that caused the hair loss.

After drawing your blood, it is placed in a centrifuge which allows us to extract ultrapure platelet-rich plasma, or PRP. The golden yellow liquid on the top is the ultrapure PRP, the white/grey middle portion contains the white blood cells, and the red substance are the red blood cells.

After extracting the ultrapure PRP, flood the follicles with the growth factors by injecting the PRP in areas of hair loss.
